113 Days - A Job Seekers Tale
113 Days - A Job Seekers Tale The above number of days can be converted to one of these units: 9,763,200 seconds 162,720 minutes 2712 hours 16 weeks (rounded down) Really does seem like an age when you have nothing to do, but do you really think you can do everything you wanted even when you have all that free time? Let me take you on a tale, because you see it all started back in...

Even more things I've learned, this time during...
So I made a list of things I learned at the weekend, this is what I have learned this week, well so far.. Plugging any external microphone / recording device into my camera’s microphone introduces something called a ‘DC Offset’ error and as such totally fucks messes up the audio creating a ‘pop’ sound when playback is initiated and causes the audio waveform to shift...

So 10 things I learned this weekend..
So I learned the following this weekend about video capturing. the equipment I own and a few other things:- The Canon EOS 7D and Canon L 24-105mm F/4 IS USM as a pair are truly weather sealed, you can thank the sickening horrendous amount of rain for that test. Wearing reaction lenses when shooting using a LCD viewfinder is a fucking stupid & silly idea as it makes your footage appear darker...

10 Days later
Well I’m currently travelling home so you know what that means, another angst style sad blog. The only thing that had made this visit sad literally is just the returning home to the constant job search again.. I came up on the Friday, enjoyed a few films on the train, walked through a cold Birmingham, past the ‘Britain’s got talent’ auditions, got to my good ladies apartment and watched some...

Lowepro S&F (Sports & Field) Gear Test
So today I got a chance to try out some of the Lowepro S&F gear, which incorporates the slip-lock system which is basically the same but a simple principle as M.O.L.L.E. military equipment that you thread the back through the clothing / item and then secure it in place. It uses the same system on my Lowepro Stealth Reporter bag on the sides and on a few other bags too. S&F Deluxe Technical...

New Years & Christmas, Goodbye 2012.
First off I’d like to take the time and say that I am fully aware that this should have been posted, now, two days ago, I am and have been very busy currently trying to get things back into some form of an order after taking a well deserved break with my wonderful lady Charlotte <3. It’s been a very busy few weeks with a lot of work and not much sleep, good times and bad times,...

Tell me I don't..
I was sat in the hair dressers today, having to wait, which is fine, I don’t mind waiting, it’s good they are busy, listening to my music and started typing this. I did my usual thing of starting to think about things relating to myself or my work. It’s bad that I only ever seem to think of things to type on here when I am sat waiting in public or on my lunch break at work. I was just...

Bold what's true.
It’s night right now. There’s something else you should be doing at the moment.  You ate chicken today.    There’s a nearby TV on. You get along with your neighbours. Twilight is a horrible series.  You’re hungry right now.  You have worked out today.     Running a mile sounds awful  You have a job.  Your parents are still together. You woke up before 11 this morning.  Baths are...

sweet-hearts-keep-beating: Gotten a new piercing. Dyed my hair. Ended a relationship. Started a new relationship. Been on a long car journey.  Passed an exam. Gone to see a therapist. Read a...

Skills Vs. Friends : A question for you
So I was sat, as I normally am when thinking of things, thinking “I wonder why people pick what they have picked to excel in”. I mean there’s that question, but it is also why do people also believe that they have no skill in what they base themselves into? I came to a realisation for the reason why.. The simple fact is, you get into a hobby, a interest, a skill and what do you...

1/400th - "..In the blink of an eye..."
There I was stood at work, 3:50pm, printing a 70 inch banner that we had designed for our own needs to be hung up on the back wall, just stopping it from over curling and scrunching up over itself as I look towards the door as my darling girl walks in, my jaw dropped and with shock was speechless. This doesn’t sound like much to you, the reader, but when you consider that she currently...

Tinned Beans - A Survival Question
So there I was the other day, begrudgingly walking up and down the isles of Tesco’s food supermarket when the thought popped into my head, “Would this be a good place to stay? How long would all the food in this place last?”. Yes a very common thing that I think about, survivability, its going to happen one day, I just hope not in my life time, although I still think that I embellish the...

Dust.
Me: Hello.
Other: Do you print?
Me: Yes certainly we do.
Other: Excellent, 'Place X' did not help me to achieve what I needed.
Me: Oh ok, I'm sorry to hear that but let's see what we can do to sort you out.
Other: Well I want to edit the tonal range of the image to improve the spacial luminosity of the image to create depth within the subject matter that is in my image.
Me: Sounds like a rather serious project your working on. Unfortunately we don't do photo editing per-say here. When you mean Tone, your meaning colour yes?
Other: No? I'm talking about the dynamic range of the light in the image that I have captured as colour is just a wave length not 'Tone', clearly you don't know what your talking about!
Me: I wouldn't say that but if you believe that, regardless tonal range in digital editing is the colour. Contrast is the levels of highlights through to shadows. Regardless we do not edit to that degree I'm afraid, you will need a computer and an editor such as Photoshop.
Other: I don't have a computer. Besides your a photoshop.
Me: Adobe Photoshop, a software editing program. Anyway lets just have a quick look at what your trying to get.
Other: I will put it in, I don't trust you.
Me: Fair enough. Ok. So which photo?
Other: Number 9 *Shows me a blurry out of focus photo of the back of someones head in a concert hall* see that just there, I want to bring up that I'm full detail and it comes up perfect on my camera.
Me: Huh?
Other: This area with these things in, the black area, I want the tonal luminosity of the area to be gradated to allow full viewing of this.
Me: Well it's a blurry picture, it's pitch black and you want me to focus on dust particles you have illuminated with the flash?
Other: It's not blurry, it's not dust!!
Me: Ok well then it's lights in the distance of this concert hall?
Other: Its not lights?!?! THERE'S NOTHING THERE!!?! IT WAS A ROOF!!?
Me: So you're telling me you want me to focus on nothing?
Other: Its not NOTHING!! It's luminosity light particles, don't you think it's not a coincidence that they are positioned like that with the lighter outsides? I have many like it.
Me: It's dust.
Other: You're so closed minded?!? Clearly you don't want to help me!
Me: No, I don't want to not help you, I want to understand what you want.
Other: God, you are so unhelpful and closed minded. That's maybe what you think it is but it's not!!?!?
Me: *Pulls out a pen and holds it up* This is a Pen. It is a pen because it is a pen. It is not a pencil, nor it is, as much as you want to believe, something crazy like a squirrel. It is a pen and that is dust.
Other: You know what? FUCK YOU!
Me: Good Day.

Interesting Geeky Relationship's
I was stood in the shower, just finished my hair and started to look at the lime body wash, funny to think that was a conversational topic at one point. Going from simple things to weird things through the course of our tuesday night wetherspoon’s meals. Most people talk about cars, the news, war or music videos, we talked about fruit body wash, computer games and funny photo’s. The...

Problem solving & Welcome home.
Well I travelled over 4 1/2 hours to get home tonight, one of the longest single train journeys I have been on in a while that didn’t break down, my neck and back ache like hell thanks to the moron that decided to take up ALL of the leg room, I’m back in my room, got bitched at already and I really just want to curl up and not wake up.. But this weekend has been a needed one. A...

Apple Touch Icon
So I updated the website to include a Apple Touch device icon if you where to save it to the home screen, pretty cool huh? Took only about 5 minutes, I just adapted the website favicon, saved it as a .png, uploaded and inserted the code into the header. Boom. Well I like it anyway, hah.

Sticking my neck out & Social Experiment.
It always does surprise me how much I really do offer people and how blind people really must be to watch a good thing slip away from in-front of them. Power is knowledge, knowledge is more commonly not free. I am not after power, I am not after money, I offer the occasional free tutorship, normally in a one to one session, but I do set up group tutorials, these usually involve something cool...

Currys Apple Expert Employee: What for sir?
Me: Pardon?
CAEE: What is it for sir?
Me: You are joking yes? What do I need an APPLE CONNECTOR cable for?
CAEE: Well yes sir, what for?
Me: Am I speaking English? Have a wild guess?
CAEE: For charging a apple product?
Me: Well fucking done, you know what forget it.
